AP does not recognize the Palestinian suffering

Via Ahmed Shokeir  It seems that AP does not recognize the Palestinian suffering and cause , this is why it did something many people think thousands times before doing it ; it has edited Obama speech omitting the part concerning the Palestinian suffering !!
Here is the original Obama's speech from my Egyptian Chronicles and from the White House too !!
Here is the AP's Obama speech. AP jumped from the Holocaust to the Iranian Nuclear program !!
This is a huge terrible mistake which affects AP creditability.AP should apologize immediately
Reuters is sure happy !!

  1. Why should they? They had numerous articles during the elections, which were biased towards the Republican Party in the US. Don't read the AP, unless it's something non-political. They may not be owned by Murdoch, but may appear to be.

  2. "Palestinian suffering" is solely the fault of the Arabs. The refugees from the Arab/Israeli 1948 war and their descendants have purposely been kept in refugee camps for 61 years, for use as a political tool against Israel Meanwhile, the 800,000 some Jews who were forced to uproot themselves from the Arab countries due to persecution in the wake of the 1948 war(where they had been resident even before Islam came on the scene) made new lives for themselves in Israel, France, USA, Canada, South America, etc. And the Jews and Palestinians have not been the only refugees in history; the only think that distinguishes the Palestinians is their use as a political tool.

  3. Dear Vagabondblogger, you remind me with the elections , but is not it a crime ?? in any other country the wire service should apologize immediately ,they did not alert any speech , it is the speech of the President.

@anonymous the Palestinian refugees are not used as a political game according to international resolution if we want to be serious and speak in a logic way they should return to their land , the refugees before you speak are in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan.
The Arab Jews did not leave because of the prosecution they face after 1948 , in my country they had leave because of economic reasons that were imposed on all Egyptians and because of Israel and its wars on Egypt
I do not expect to agree on what I am saying

  4. You are saying that Egyptian Jews had to leave because of Israel and its wars on Egypt? First of all, it was Egypt's wars on Israel. Second, where is the logic in that? You are equating Jews and Israel. Egypt, in the wake of their defeat in the 1948 War, had no way to express their dissappointment, anger, anti-semitism and humiliation other than to persecute their Jewish community.

  5. In 1956 , who started the war ? who attacked the other country first officially and technically ??
In 1967 who started the war for real ?? Nasser was bluffing as usual and every one knows that he was not going to attack Israel.
In 1948 The Arab countries had to try to save the Palestinian population from being exterminated in a genocide
Of course I forget to mention that the Palestinian suffering is not the fault of the Arabs but it is the fault of UK that gave a land that it did not own to people who did not belong to it !!? If we are going to speak in a real historical context.
Now I do not have enough to go in an ill debate with you anonymous , but please do not speak about the Arab Jews after 1948 because in my country very well I know their history ,when and why they had to leave , ironically the past is my favorite topic in my blog
Now can I ask what do you think about the AP action regardless of the Palestinian suffering part ?? Because this is the main topic of this post

  6. It is evident from your postings that you were taught a very distorted, sensational version of history in your schools, such as your claim that the Arab countries had to save the Palestinian people from being exterminated in a genocide. What rubbish! In 1967, Nasser vowed to drive Israel into the sea. Israel, in a defensive move attacked Egypt. Israel begged Jordan to stay out of the conflict but Jordan declined. As a result, Israel occupied the West Bank. As to "AP does not recognize the Palestinian suffering," Obama said enough untruths in his speech about alleged Moslem contributions to civilizations and the history of the region. There was no need to further publicize the distortions. As for the UN giving the land to a people to whom it did belong, there were always Jews living in Palestine; the land was never absent of Jews, although Palestine was a wasteland for centuries, considered a backwater of Syria. When Jews began to immigrate in large numbers to Palestine in the 19th and 20th centuries, they began to till the land in modern ways, build industry, etc. and develop the country. This led to a large immigration of Arabs from the neighboring countries to take advantage of the improved conditions. Also, you know nothing about the Egyptian Jews; you are just parroting the official line you learned in school.

  7. I will stick to my post instead of an endless useless debate ,already I was speaking about the UK not the UN for start
about the 1967 ,well whether Nasser said his infamous words or not there would have been an attack

There is something called freedom of expression , As a professional wire service it should not alert the speech of any president or anyone regardless of what they or you think.

  8. You say you do not want to engage in a useless debate. I am raising uncomfortable issues which you simple do not want to address. Apparently, at school, you were spoon-fed a certain propogandistic version of history, from which you cannot bear to deviate. During my education in high school and college in the USA, I was taught to think and challenge what I was taught, and to accept that injustices that were done in the name of the United States. Based on your posts and those of your fellow Arab bloggers, this ability for introspection and reflection is sorely lacking in your education and culture.

  9. Vagabondblogger accuses AP of being biased towards the Republican Party and hints that they are like a Rupert Murdoch owned publication. Pure poppycock! Republicans believe AP to be another left wing liberal luvvin media source. However, it should be noted, the edited version of the speech was provided to the AP by CQ a transcription service that is a wholly owned subsidiary of the St. Petersburg Times. Therefor I deduce in this case the AP is not at fault.

As to the debate between Zeinobia and anonymous I believe that anonymous is winning. Until the Arabs accept the fact that many of the problems they have are self-inflicted there is little hope for a better future.

  10. Pure PoppyCock? Who uses that expression. Holy Moly Batman! How old are you Misrscribe? 100? And are you an old British lady eating crumpets and tea? Too funny :P

1948 creation of a new state without any thought to the native inhabitants of that land has resulted in endless conflict back and forth. This will continue for the next 50 yrs. Really until the Zionist American lobby decides otherwise. They control most of the Western media. Control information and you control minds of the masses. So what did you expect really Zeinobia?

All Arab leaders have sold out long ago. Populace is kept poor and ignorant to prevent protest and coup d'etat. So AP will continue to edit news to suit its policies. Accept it and move on already.

  11. "Zionist American lobby" - here we go again with Arab anti-semitism. I guess an Egyptian cannot avoid it since your bookstores are full of anti-semitic drivel, in an effort to divert the attention of the populace from the real culprits for the abysmal condition of the Arab world today (no - it is not the West). "They control most of the Western media" is clearly referring to the Jews. Oh, and for your nformation, "pure poppycock" is a common expression and not rare at all. Again, here again is an example of a personal attack, since you lack facts to challenge Misrscribe. Maybe you would have a better grasp of the English language if you studied English more and spent less time reading and listening to Anti-Jewish propoganda. Thank you bloggers for continuing to supply again and again more examples of the Arab culture of victimhood.

  12. I wish that every anonymous blogger would use a distinctive pen name so that we could more easily refer to their comments. In this case I shall call the blogger who challenged my use of poppycock Robin since he used " Holy Moly." In truth I learned the phrase poppycock once upon a time when I was in Poona.(Old joke!) In this case I used it instead of B...Sh.. which described my reaction to Vagabondbloggers charges. I always try to be nice on Zeinobia's blog because she is a lady and gentlemen should never use coarse language in front of ladies.

Now to get serious. There are Jewish lobbyists and there are Arab lobbyists in the U.S.Both are very well funded but neither controls the U.S. press. The press in America in general has a very liberal bias and for the most part supports the Palestinian cause. I should add that many Americans of Jewish faith are liberal Democrats.

The majority of Americans are disturbed by suffering and poverty anywhere in the world and have willingly spent money and the lives of our young in the hope of bringing better living standards and peace to the world. We get little thanks for our efforts in part I believe because " no one likes a rich Uncle." A truism in most cultures.

Democrat and Republican Presidents have tried for many years to bring peace to Palestine and Israel and have not succeeded because of the unrelenting anti-jewish sentiment of the Arabs that is nurtured and used by their leaders to conceal their own shortcomings. Pride also gets in the way of compromise.

President Sadat stands out as a true hero who wanted to improve the the lot of the Egyptians and indeed I also praise King Hussein. They recognized the right of Israel to exist and they achieved peace! Egypt benefited very much from peace and we saw a great improvement in the Egyptian economy from 1974. Things were still improving when I last visited in 1986.

Unfortunately Egypt is not rich in natural resources nor does it have as much arable land as it needs to feed a population that is growing far too fast. Birth control needs to implemented big time but religious oppostion stands in the way. Now I am off topic but it needs to be said.

To my young friends including Zeinobia I say open your hearts and minds to new ideas.Be honest with yourself and don't fall for the hatemongering that pervades the middleeast. Don't indulge in hate! It is a useless emotion that accomplishes nothing. Ask yourselves what positive things you can do to improve your own country and fight for them.Goverments cannot improve your lives.. only you can do it.

My thanks to the last anonymous who defended my use of poppycock. Why don't you adopt a pen name that distinguishes you from other bloggers?

    Salaam

  13. Anonymous, if indeed the Jews control the media in the USA they are clearly doing a very poor job protecting the interests of Israel (as if that is their job). The media in the USA (television, newspapers, magazines, etc.) is more more critical of Israel than sympaphetic. Don't just repeat an untruth you heard somewhere in some piece of Arab propoganda because it fits into your culture of victimology.
